And by adopting you might just save a dog’s life because according to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) 670,000 of the 3.3M dogs it estimates are taken into shelters each year are euthanized. Think about that – it means every minute of every day just over 1 dog is euthanized or almost 77 each and every hour!
And of course the pandemic has created a huge increase in the number of dogs for adoption that are available. This means many dog shelters and dog pounds just can’t cope anymore and some have had to put perfectly healthy dogs to sleep.
This is a heart breaking state of affairs and we must not allow it to continue a minute longer.

Dogs deserve so much more than ending their lives this way. In my life I have adopted three dogs from shelters and each and every one brought happiness and joy into my life as I brought into theirs. There is no greater love than the love of a dog you have adopted. Indeed they will repay the love you bestow on them tenfold – such is their gratitude for the loving home you have given them.
Surely in light of these ASPCA statistics for anyone who really loves dogs and cares about their welfare there can only be one decision – to ADOPT!!!!!
